I always loved crafts, I learned crocheting, knitting, embroidering weaving as a child, my Grandma and my parents were great inspirations and teachers. As a teenager, I sewed dresses for myself and my sister. Growing up in a teachers’ family in Hungary, I could not imagine becoming anything else but a teacher myself.

Since I always had great curiosity, enthusiasm, and appreciation towards nature I became a biology and chemistry teacher. I loved teaching about our environment, how to conserve and take care of it, while the physical and mental health of my students were as well in the focus of my interests.

When my daughter was born and I spent a few years at home with her, I just experienced the genuine healing power of art and creativity. That is when I found quilting as an art form and my life has changed forever. My awakening and spiritual journey that began unfolding in my 20s now got interweaved with textiles, mythology, symbolism, ancient traditions, and of course nature. My Hungarian heritage, my travels around the world, and living in England have influenced my view immensely.  I create personalized art pieces, horoscope mandalas, and shamanic drum bags as the main occupation.

In 2013 I decided to enter a quilt titled "May Tree" to the special exhibit called "Traditions" at the Houston Quilt Festival. It was shortlisted to the 20 that travelled throughout the USA for a year.

Next year another quilt, titled "Mother Earth Is Our Home" enjoyed the same journey, then in 2016 it was part of the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, UK.

From August 04th to November 25th, 2020 this quilt was part of the exhibit called "For the Love of Gaia"  in the Nebraska Quilt Museum, curated by Luana Rubin. This exhibition conveyed a strong message on environmental conservation and became the visual and contextual basis of a workshop for children’s environmental education.

This was also the quilt that crystallized my special applique technique the "Draw-Sew-Trim" that I developed for myself several years ago and finally published as an eBook in 2018 along with dozens of other patterns.

​

Since then I started teaching it all over the world and created several YouTube tutorials and a friendly Facebook group for my fellow quilters to share our love and passion for quilting, to nourish our souls, support each other and care for each other.  I find that I never stopped teaching and sharing the joy of creating, I just found another form of doing it.
