This weekend we are going to finish the beautiful "landscape" design we started a few weeks ago.

Those who haven't started yet can download the pattern and find the first part of the tutorial in the Applique with the Draw-Sew-Trim Facebook Group.

Creating this "landscape" design is a great way to learn the basics of this unique applique technique that I call Draw-Sew-Trim™.

I prepared a basic landscape design to start with but please feel free to alter it the way you like. Try to think of a season and time of day to choose the colours accordingly. One of the patches will be water for me. Also, you can arrange your prepared trees in this picture, I will have some surprises too. I hope you will enjoy.

The "DST_Landscape__Sew_along_on_Facebook" (.pdf) will be available here to download for free on the week of the event.

For instructions on the enlargement and printing please watch and follow this video:

When you have your design printed, you need to assemble the sheets of papers and transfer the flower to a piece of white fabric. (I refer to that as interfacing but it is a piece of cotton fabric).

This video is about our previous project, the Snowdrop Pillow but all the preparations are the very same with this project too.

Please follow the instructions of this video:

Accessories & Fabrics

All the accessories you will need are the same as before.

We will continue to fill up this background with trees, more clouds, some animals. You could think of colours that you would like to use for filling up this land with life.

I will explain a couple of techniques again that you could use, you can prepare a piece of the fusible web too.

We will stitch on the water, add some bushes. If you have some fabrics that look like foliage and flowers, will work very well for you.

At the time given above, I will go live in the Applique with Draw-Sew-Trim Facebook Group.

If you are not a member yet, please join, because that is how you can see the live video, give feedback and ask questions by commenting.

For a smooth start please have your fabrics and accessories prepared along with your design drawn onto a piece of white fabric. If you have never done any Draw-Sew-Trim projects before please do not get discouraged as I will explain and teach everything step by step from the very beginning. You can also ask questions and we will do our best to answer every one of them.

I do hope we will have a nice creative day to keep ourselves positive and if it works out well, we will certainly do some more.

Thank you for your support,

Happy quilting,

Katalin
