The "Coral Reef" is a beautiful project to learn the basics of a unique applique technique, the Draw-Sew-Trim™. You can create an amazing underwater scene and learn how to sew different kinds of beautiful corals. You will find 7 different corals in one .pdf file. (one file with 7 pages)
This design is without any specific instructions but once you are familiar with the "Draw-Sew-Trim" technique, that makes the applique process easier, faster and more accurate, you will be able to create a wonderful underwater scene with it. You can have your design printed to any size you would like and create the corals on separate pieces of interfacings as individuals. Choose your fabrics as you like, you can have very bright ones in this quilt. If you intend to embroider a lot on them it is highly recommended to use a piece of stabilizer too. Later you can cut the individual corals out and arrange them on a suitable background. You can add some fish and other creatures too.
